Reuben is a 3 year old Husky X who very sadly found himself in the pound and, unfortunately, was never claimed.
He is a very sweet boy who is blind in one eye and has limited vision in the other. However, he doesn’t let his disability stop him, and he’s incredibly good at navigating new spaces and finding his way around surprisingly quickly.
Reuben loves spending time in our orchard, where he can potter around and do his own thing. He also loves playing in the paddling pool and chasing tennis balls. He can be a little aloof at times, but he does also enjoy a fuss when he’s in the mood.
Because of his limited vision, Reuben can sometimes mistake a hand for a toy during play. If he is caught off guard, he may also try to grab something he thinks could be a toy or a treat. He is very gentle, but because of this, we feel he would be best suited to a home with dog savvy older children who understand that he needs to be approached calmly and given the chance to know they are there.
Reuben has been very friendly towards the dogs he has met here. However, because he can be a little clumsy during play, we feel he would be happiest as the only dog in the home, or potentially with a large, friendly, laid back dog who wouldn’t mind Reuben bumping into them.
Reuben is yet to be neutered. Ideally, we would like to get him settled into his new home first and then have him neutered by our vet, allowing him to recover comfortably at home rather than in a kennel.
Reuben really is a lovely boy who will make a wonderful companion for the right person or family.

Spotted a dog you love? Start by filling in our online adoption form or giving us a call, where you’ll tell us about your lifestyle and the kind of pup you’re hoping to take home.
Step 2
We Start the Search
With your details in hand, we’ll start matching you with the dogs in our care. You don’t need to do anything else – we’ll get in touch as soon as we find a potential match.
Step 3
Meet Your New Best Friend
If we’ve found a dog that seems right for you, we’ll invite you to meet them. Some pups may need a few visits to feel comfortable, but all of this helps us make sure it’s a good fit.
Step 4
Reserve Your Pup
Ready to make it official? We’ll guide you through all the paperwork and reserve your four-legged friend while you get everything set for their arrival.
Step 5
Take Them Home
Once all the necessary checks are completed, you’ll take your new pup home for your one-month adoption trial.
Step 6
Not the Right Fit? No Problem
If life takes a turn or things don’t click, we’ll always welcome our dogs back with open arms and zero judgement – whether it’s during the trial period or after.
