Pablo’s story
Pablo came into our care in 2021. We received a call from a vets to say he had been taken in to be euthanised due to a minor bite incident and thankfully, the vet decided to give us a call to see if we could help.
This was a time of lockdowns and restrictions which not only was a confusing time for us, but also confusing for our dogs as they didn’t understand why one minute we were not allowed visitors to our homes and then after a long period we were again. Could Pablo be judged on feeling a bit unsure of strangers entering his home once again? For feeling the need to protect someone he loved and nipping someone on the bum? We didn’t think so.
Pablo arrived and it was clear he was a little unsure and also under socialised, although he was very friendly and didn’t put a paw wrong. He was a young boy who needed a fresh start and we were happy to provide him with one.
Due to Pablo’s history and being unsure of some new people, he was muzzle trained for safety and his history laid out on the table for anyone who enquired about him, as it always should be. We just needed someone to understand Pablo and to do right by him.
Now sometimes people have instant connections with dogs and the day Pablo met Amy, we saw just that! A match made in heaven! Pablo went from being a little shy to very confident in Amy’s presence. She was exactly what he needed and what he had been waiting for. After a few visits with Amy, her partner and her mum, Pablo went off and joined the family and he’s been enjoying lovely holidays and just living his best life ever since.
Well done Pabs and keep being that good boy we all know you are and thank you to your wonderful family. 💙
