Pet Rescue Day, Saturday, 9th April 2017
This was the very first event of the year and is an awareness day for the many different animal rescue centres in Shropshire. Although billed as an information day, most of the rescues hold tombolas or sell items on their stalls to raise some much needed funds.
Birch Hill sold a few dog toys and treats and information was available to anyone who wanted to know a little more about us as a charity and what we do. It made the day so much more enjoyable because it was very sunny and warm, a great day out.
Annual Companion Dog Show, Sunday, 7th May 2017
Our biggest event of the year but one that is most enjoyable. The dog show has many classes for Pedigree and Crossbreed dogs and also has Novelty classes too.
Always held around the same date in May the event takes place on the meadow alongside the River Severn in Stourport-on-Severn and runs through the whole day. There are trophies, rosettes and certificates to be won and a great favourite of ours is the Parade of Rescue Dogs where we get to hear how various dogs found their way into rescue and looking for that forever home.
